Emergency Evacuation Order for Ellenbrook Residents Amid Bushfire
A critical bushfire situation has emerged in the Ellenbrook neighborhood of Perth, posing an immediate threat to numerous homes and residents. The fire, which ignited around 3 p.m. local time, is rapidly spreading through a small patch of bushland, endangering the surrounding residential area.
The affected zone is bordered by The Broadway, Galatea Pass, Farmaner Parkway, and Elmridge Parkway, and an emergency warning has been issued for residents within this boundary. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) has advised that people in this area must leave immediately in a southerly direction.
Aerial footage reveals a cabana engulfed in flames in the backyard of a home, while huge plumes of smoke billow across the residential area. Emergency services, including aerial support, have been dispatched to combat the blaze, with fire trucks hosing down scorched land adjacent to some homes.
There are unverified reports of some homes being damaged, and the situation on the ground has been described as chaotic. Resident Bruce, who witnessed the fire's rapid spread, noted the towering flames surpassing homes and the panicked residents attempting to escape the immediate area.
The fire has already jumped a couple of roads, heading east, and the situation remains tense as emergency services work to control the blaze and ensure the safety of the community.
